Lee Child, author (of Jack Reacher books) moved to Handsworth Wood, Birmingham, at age four and went to Cherry Orchard Primary School in Handsworth Wood and then King Edward’s School, Birmingham.

James Watt is one of Britain’s most famous figures. He was the famous inventor whose steam engine contributed substantially to the Industrial Revolution. He was a member of the Lunar Society in Birmingham, a group of writers and scientists who wished to advance the Sciences and the Arts. He was elected fellow of the Royal Society of London in 1785.
